Bikini Waxing in Dubai
Intimate waxing is the treatment women are most nervous about booking, and usually the one they wish they had booked sooner. Female therapist, closed private room, stripless hard wax that lifts the hair without pulling at the skin.
Bikini Line, AED 75. Tidies the hair that would sit outside a swimsuit line. The usual starting point if you have never had intimate waxing before.
Full Bikini, AED 105. A more thorough removal across the whole bikini area. Both are 30 minutes and both use hard wax throughout.
If it is your first time, say so when you arrive. Your therapist will talk you through each step before she starts.
Waxing, Done Properly
Women only, start to finish
No male staff and no male clients. Female therapists throughout, and a fully enclosed room for every intimate treatment.
Nothing double dipped
Fresh wax and single use applicators for every client, with full sanitation of the room between appointments.
Hard wax on sensitive areas
It sets around the hair and lifts off without gripping the skin underneath, which is why it hurts noticeably less.
Waxing Questions, Answered
How much does waxing cost in Dubai?+
Small areas such as fingers or the nose sit at the lower end across Dubai salons, while bikini, legs and back cost more. Location and product quality drive most of the difference.
At Lioness, waxing starts at AED 21 for fingers and AED 30 for the nose. Underarms are AED 50, half legs AED 70, bikini line AED 75 and a full bikini AED 105. The full price list is above.
What is the 48 hour rule for waxing?+
It is the two day window after your appointment when the pores are still open and the skin is sensitive. For those 48 hours, avoid heat and sweat, keep the area out of direct sun, skip the pool and the sea, wear loose clothing, and do not exfoliate.
Once the 48 hours are up, exfoliate gently two or three times a week. That is what keeps ingrown hairs away between appointments.
Is waxing the private area haram?+
Removing pubic and underarm hair is widely understood in Islamic practice as part of the sunnah of fitrah, and the method is generally not restricted, so waxing is treated the same as any other method. The question most women are really asking is about awrah, meaning who is permitted to see and touch the area.
Scholarly opinion differs on whether another woman may perform intimate hair removal, with many holding it permissible where there is a genuine need and others advising it be done yourself. We are a women only salon with female therapists and fully enclosed rooms, and you are welcome to book the bikini areas or to keep to face and body only. If this matters to you, please follow the guidance of a scholar you trust.
What is the difference between a bikini line and a full bikini wax?+
A bikini line tidies the hair that would show outside a swimsuit, so the sides and the top only. A full bikini goes considerably further and removes hair across the whole area.
Both take 30 minutes and both are done with stripless hard wax. If you are unsure, start with the bikini line. You can always go further next time.
How long does hair need to be for waxing?+
Roughly 5mm, which is about two to three weeks of growth after shaving. Shorter than that and the wax cannot grip it, which means patchy results. If it has grown past a centimetre we will trim it first, which is normal and makes the session more comfortable.
Does waxing hurt?+
There is a sharp sting as the wax lifts and it is over in about a second. Most first time clients say it was less than they had braced for.
It also gets easier. By the third or fourth appointment the hair is finer and the sensation is milder. If you are on your period the area is more sensitive, so book a few days either side if you can.
How often should I get waxed?+
Every four to six weeks suits most people and most areas. A regular rhythm gets the whole growth cycle onto the same schedule, which is when you start seeing longer smooth periods and finer regrowth.
Can I combine waxing with another treatment?+
Yes, and a Moroccan bath beforehand is the one we recommend most. The steam and exfoliation soften the follicle so the hair releases more easily.
You can also add a hydrating facial, manicure or eyelash extensions to the same visit.
